What Is Preventive Maintenance for HVAC Systems and Why Is It Important?

Preventive HVAC maintenance means scheduled tune-ups that clean, test, and adjust your system to keep it safe and efficient. It helps find worn parts early, reduce breakdowns, preserve manufacturer warranties, and control energy costs.

  • Typical tasks: clean coils/blowers/burners, check refrigerant and airflow, tighten electrical connections, test safety features and thermostats, lubricate moving parts, and replace filters. For A/C, we also clear drains and clean coils/condensers.
  • Frequency: A/C yearly in spring; heat pumps often twice yearly (spring and fall) in Noblesville and Carmel.
