Why Is My Smart Thermostat Not Connecting to Wi-Fi?

Most smart thermostats fail to connect because they use 2.4 GHz, your router is on 5 GHz, the signal is weak, or the password is wrong. Router settings like MAC filtering, hidden SSID, or disabled DHCP can also block pairing.

Quick checks:

  • Reboot the thermostat and router.
  • Join the 2.4 GHz SSID and move closer.
  • Re-enter the Wi‑Fi password.
  • Disable MAC filtering/AP isolation; enable DHCP.
  • Update router and thermostat firmware, then retry setup.

We also test controls and remote operation during tune-ups.
